The
Trenary Home Bakery building was constructed around
1930. It was purchased by the Siiranen Family in
the early 30's and was located adjacent to the historic Trenary family homestead. Thus the bakery was named the "Trenary Home" bakery. The building was originally constructed as a bakery with living quarters. The bakery later became a boarding house and then was converted to a restaurant before being returned to it's original function as a bakery.
In 1950 Hans and Esther Hallinen purchased the bakery from the Siiranen's. Hans and Esther expanded the bakery to it's current size. All five Hallinen children worked at the bakery as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins in various capacities. In 1970 the oldest and youngest sons, Bruce and David began running the bakery when Hans's health began to fail. Bruce purchased the bakery from his mother and in 1998 Bruce's oldest son Joseph along with his wife Susan (Subi) returned to Trenary to assist his father with the daily operations of the business. Joseph and Susan's son Zachary is currently in charge of Trenary Toast taste testing.
Today the products can be ordered or bought in the
Trenary Home Bakery.
